The Spring started along with this month, but now we May is coming close and there is no better way to anticipate it than taking your calendar and start making some notes on the upcoming event that will be held this month. we love to be informative here in this Blog so of course we are going to give a handful of information about upcoming event here in the big city of Houston, Texas.
~May 05th Public events are the most attended in the city of Houston, especially those related to family categories. The Texas Dragon Boat Association, in collaboration with Buffalo Bayou Partnership, presents its 17th Annual Houston Dragon Boat Festival. The festival will showcase 30 teams competing along the banks of Buffalo Bayou at Allen's Landing, and will feature Asian cuisine, music, arts and crafts, and cultural performances for the whole family. The first festival was held in October 2001 at Allen's Landing in downtown Houston.
~May 05th - 06th Do you have a particular liking for Cars? This annual event features 200 classic cars and 100 wooden boats and attracts enthusiasts from around the world. The weekend-long, nationally acclaimed classic car and vintage wooden boat show takes place each spring at the Lakewood Yacht Club in beautiful Seabrook, TX and attracts more than 15,000 attendees. The car and boat exhibitors come from every part of the United States, as do the spectators.Potential sponsors can choose from six different support levels ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 and include bronze, silver, gold, platinum, presenting and title sponsorships. All levels of funding will receive recognition in printed collateral, a color advertisement in the program, VIP guest passes to Saturday or Sunday Concours, sponsor parking pass and the company logo will appear on the Keels & Wheels website. Further benefits are available for higher-level sponsorship packages and can be customized.
~May 05th Held on the first Saturday in May each year, the Mediterranean Festival features a tradition that is more than 100 years old, the Syrian Dinner. Along with food, families can enjoy camel rides, Greek and Arabic dance troop performances, face painting, games and other fun activities.
~May 05th There’ll be tasty crawfish, foot-tapping tunes and family fun at Tomball’s downtown Depot Plaza on Saturday, May 5th as the City hosts the seventh annual Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival presented by WCA. This award winning event is a day-long celebration of the tasty crawfish through food, music, competitive eating, live crawfish racing and more. Performing on the K-Star 99.7 FM stage are Beatles tribute band, The Fab 5; Louisiana’s “Rockin’ Fiddler”, Waylon Thibodeaux; Texas rocker, John Evans; and swamp pop Cajun favorite, Bayou Roux. There will be loads of crawfish, boudin, etouffee’ and all sorts of festival foods, too. Shop the vendors and then turn the kids loose in the kids zone.
~May 25th - 27th Comicpalooza returns to Houston to offer the best multi-format pop festival in the American Southwest. It offers comics, science fiction, video games, board games, music, anime, movies and more. With over 2,000 hours of insurance programming you find something for all the family members! including J-Fashion, cosplay, a film festival, literary conference, a code fest, maker space, Mars Rover rides, video and tabletop gaming, professional wrestling, & roller derby bouts.
~ May 18th - 20th Did someone say strawberries, strawberry shortcake? Yum! The Annual Pasadena Strawberry Festival will include 128 teams playing Mud Volleyball, 70 BBQ cook off teams, Specialty Act- Pig races, Swam master Alligator show, Magic acts, stunt shows, Children's area, Teen area, Washer Pitching Contest, Wine Tent, 2 stages of Live entertainment, and the Worlds Largest Strawberry Shortcake! A barbecue cook-off, a beauty pageant, arts and crafts, live entertainment, teen battle of the bands and the world's largest strawberry shortcake are all part of the Pasadena Strawberry Festival.
